The Swiss Supreme Court has ruled on November 3, 2006, that for an assisted suicide of a mentally disturbed person, not only a prescription of a physician is necessary, but also a in-depth report of a psychiatrist saying that the person has capacity of discernment in view of ending their life and that the intention to end the life is not a symptom of an acute depression.
