The freedom to commit suicide, which has always appeared to me as the most fundamental freedom of every human being - is for many people a freedom to LIVE a better life : for indeed i have known many people who are not convinced they want to die, but want to have the means to a peaceful end available.
The quality of life of many people who choose this freedom improves once they have the means to die available. So a life lived with the freedom to die is for many people a life VOLUNTARILY chosen, a life that one lives because one WANTS to live it, rather than because one is COERCED to live it.
For 12 years I have cherished so much this freedom and it is still so difficult to secure it. I will do nothing until i secure my most basic freedom, no matter the obstacles
But it's so difficult to secure this freedom, due to the societal pressure against suicide, and there are so many obstacles against it.....one must find all possible diagnoses and pretend to be ill in all possible ways.
the freedom to die may be a freedom to live
